Checkology’s lite learning management system allows you to evaluate students, track grades, and monitor progress using a pre-platform and post-assessment.

Checkology does not offer any full integrations with other learning management or student information systems. Students can sign up for Checkology using Google and Microsoft. This makes sign-up and credential retention much simpler for educators. For more information on LMS/SIS and Checkology, contact checkologyinfo@newslit.org.

You can access support materials and NLP’s Help Center via the “Help” button in your teacher account. In the Help Center, you’ll find extensive support articles and tutorials. You can also contact us via phone, chat and email.

While social studies and ELA educators constitute the majority of Checkology users, the platform has been used in libraries, media centers, specialized civics and government courses, journalism and technology courses, science classes and more. News literacy education can be integrated into almost any subject area!

The News Literacy Project created Checkology to teach news literacy to middle and high school students, but the platform also has been used successfully with students from fifth grade through community college, as well as with adult learners. Each lesson, challenge and exercise has a difficulty ranking meant to assist educators as they create a customized course for their students.

While the lessons, challenges, exercises and fact-checking missions are uniform, each has a difficulty ranking that can help you choose what you want to incorporate into your curriculum. You can customize each class’s course.
